Meet Our Family: Rosemary

Margaret and Emma is founded on the mission of helping rural women improve their lives by providing them with a means to make a living. Each artisan that works with us has a unique story. They are bold, they are determined, and they are valued. We cherish our family, and part of our mission is to share their stories.

Meet Rosemary:

Rosemary is a member of our group in Nyakishenyi, Uganda. As a mother of five, she works very hard to support her family. In addition to growing crops, she is an expert at making paper beads for necklaces and bracelets.

Rosemary uses her income to pay school fees for her children, and pay for their basic needs. She suffers from constant headaches, and by selling jewelry she is able to earn enough funds to also pay for her medical needs. Despite her health issues, she always greets people with a smile and a hug, and is the first to join in traditional dancing.

Rosemary has been a part of Margaret & Emma since 2014, and we are honored to have her as a part of the Margaret & Emma family.
