Margaret and Emma is founded on the mission of helping women improve their lives by providing them with a means to make a living. Each woman that works with us has a unique story. She is bold, she is determined, and she is valued. We cherish our family, and part of our mission is to share their stories.
Meet Praxida:

Praxida is from Nyarugaragara village, Rubanda district. Growing up, Praxida was not able to go to school, so she relied on growing small crops to earn money. When she had her own children, she continued to struggle to find ways to earn an income for her family.
Three years ago, she joined her local women's group in order to learn new skills to better support her family. Not only has Praxida learned to make crafts, but she has learned life skills, and has been able to send her daughter to school.
"Listening to different stories from my group members has kept me moving. Many times I think I am in a bad situation, but every time we meet and share I go home encouraged. There is a lot we learn apart from craft skills. We learn to save, and learn better ways to farm."
Praxida is determined to save her money to buy a goat as a long term investment. Breeding and selling goats will bring a steady income, and will continue to pay for basic needs for the family, and will also allow Praxida to send her children to school.
Praxida is driven, hard working, and always smiling. She loves being a part of her group, and brings joy and energy to every meeting. We are proud to have Praxida in our Margaret & Emma family.
